This post grew to be too long to hold anyones attention for any particular length of time to honestly read the whole thing.  So, I have split this out into two parts (for now at least).  Part 1 is all about the products that I USED to use and looking at the EWG ranking for them.  Part 2 will be about the new products that we are using around our home that are safe for our family that do not have harsh chemicals.  We are heading back in time to a time when cleaning products were safe for our families to be around and for everyone to use!

We have been eliminating chemicals from our home for a few months now.  The hardest part has been the fact that I like to shop at Costco for our cleaning supplies and we have a lot.  I cannot just throw it all away!  That would be such a waste.

So what did I do…….We didn’t buy any more of the old stuff and I looked them all up on EWG.org.  You know that it is my favorite place to learn all about the products that I use.  Just think I would use the Clorox Wipes (affiliate link).  Once I looked these up at EWG.org I took them to work and let everyone else fight over them.

According to the EWG they rank them at a D!!!!!!!! (A is the best ranking and F is obviously the worst, just like your typical grading scale from school).  The main concern is asthma/respiratory concerns.  Check out the ranking here with all of the ingredients.  I honestly cannot believe that this is ok to even sell on the shelfs.  I mean that I used these wipes everywhere!  Kitchen counters, appliances, all of the hard surfaces in the bathrooms, my daughter’s training potty, toilets, bathtubs, sinks, etc!  It is really scarry to now think about what a disservice I was doing to everyone in my family by using these wipes.  And don’t think that Lysol cleaning wipes (affliate link) are any better.  They actually have an F rating on their chemicals and overall a D.  Check out the rating here!

No wonder there are so many cases of Asthma (along with all of our air pollutants) and other health issues that are probably so avoidable.

Ok, I think that this might be information overload for right now.  I will leave you with all of this information.  What is sad is that I thought that some of these products were “safe” for my family.  Boy was I wrong.  Couldn’t have been more wrong!  Time to switch even more products over to make this transition even more complete.  Continue to follow to see how everything goes…….
