Product Review time!!!!!!  Woooohooooo!!!!!!  Just what you wanted…..right!?!?!?!?!?!  I totally thought so.

Ok…Personal care….the good, the bad, the ugly and the stinky.

maybe it is just me or maybe it is the years upon years of using deodorant with Aluminum in them that has made me just kind of stink over the course of the day.

And yes….I do shower.

Ok so you might know by now where I went to look this all up.  Of course, my go to site… the EWG.  Head over to the Consumer Guides and then to SKIN DEEP.  From there you can type the name of your personal care product into the search bar and find out how your current product ranks.  I was using Dove.  The EWG ranked it as a 4 (rankings run 1-10.  1 being the best and 10 being the worst).  When I first looked this up I was actually pleasantly surprised.  I had it in my head that it was going to be much worse.  although it still raises plenty of concern.  I never had any issues using Dove.  It would do everything that it promised that it would.  It smelled good, kept me dry and guess what…No stink!  But that darn Aluminum….

Ok…to the nitty-gritty….Tom’s of Maine Calendula Natural Deodorant.

The label says that it is long-lasting and that it is supposed to work for 24 hours.

Maybe if I was sitting on the couch not moving a muscle.  I am not an overly stinky person.  I don’t sweat copiously just doing everyday activity.  We don’t need to get into working out……..This will not work for the gym or cross-fit.

But……..Here it goes.  Tom’s of Main Calendula Natural Deodorant is neither long-lasting or 24 hour protection or coverage.  I was smelling stinky in a matter of hours and always just felt kind of like I had sweaty armpits….I mean, come on, you totally know what I am talking about and it is not the feeling that you want when a few hours after taking a shower.

Ok so I guess that I should give this deodorant something positive.

I like the smell!

The scent is very nice.

I have used Calendula in other products and I do love it.  It is usually used for its  soothing qualities.  This deodorant feels nice going on and it smells great, it just doesn’t cover and protect.  It goes on smooth but still feels a bit wet.

I don’t know….maybe I didn’t read the directions.  Maybe after putting it on I am supposed to walk around with my arms up to help everything dry out before I put a shirt on.  I don’t know but I better close the curtains.

For now I am done using this.  I have used Tom’s of Maine now for a few months.  I was thinking that maybe my body just needs some time to detox from all of the chemicals in the products that I was using previously.  Unfortunately, this deodorant just didn’t work for me.  Maybe it will work for you.  Time to move on to something else.  I guess the remainder of the Tom’s will end up in the travel stash…..or maybe just the trash.
